Fire in the Hole: A Byzantine Catholic Retreat

LODGING OPTION:
Lodging will be available on campus at an additional cost of $80 per retreatant. Registrants will be responsible for providing their own linens (sheets, towels, pillow.)

** If you have a baby or toddler who will be sleeping with you, they can lodge for free. Rooms will be in “pods” of five rooms with two attached bathrooms and a living room and kitchenette. **
Join us for a weekend immersion in the mystical fire that fills the burning hole in the human heart. Our retreat master is Fr. Thomas Loya.

1. “The fire in the hole ”
There is a hole that burns like fire in the soul of modern western civilization that yearns to quenched by being filled with the Fire from Eastern Christian spirituality. Pope Leo XIV called this “medicine for our world.”
2. “Monasticism is the reference point for ALL of the baptized.”–-St John Paul II–Orientale Lumen
Monasticism is one of the two pillars upon which the “medicine” of Eastern Christian spirituality rests.
Even the married must first be ‘good monks’ to be happily married.

We must not just pray. We must BECOME prayer
4. Liturgy–the blueprint for all things in life
Liturgy is not something we “attend.” It is our transformative immersion in the blueprint of God’s order whereby Heaven and Earth meet.
