Grants
The Gerber Institute may award grants for any project that supports or furthers the mission, vision, or current theme of the Gerber Institute. Grant applications must be submitted by a member of the Newman University community, which includes faculty, staff, students, alumni and trustees.
Applying for a Grant
The person requesting the grant should submit a proposal of no more than 3 pages detailing:
-the proposed project,
-the intended or expected outcomes,
-how the project supports or furthers the Institute’s mission, vision, or current theme,
-the amount of the grant request with an estimate of expenses required to complete the project, and
-how the project outcomes will be evaluated.
The number of grants awarded each year is based on availability of funds. Faculty, staff, alumni and trustees may request up to $1500; students may request up to $500.
Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but must be submitted at least a month before the proposed project.
Please submit your application to the director of the Gerber Institute. Applications will be reviewed by a subcommittee and voted on by the Executive Board.
